‘Marcus is way ahead of where I was at 23′: Obama and Rashford share ‘surreal’ Zoom call

Over a Zoom conversation organised by Penguin Books, Marcus Rashford and former US President Barack Obama discussed the importance of giving back to your community, the lasting positive impact of reading and their shared experiences of being raised by a single mother. The conversation was moderated by June Sarpong, a broadcaster and author, and was released on Penguin UK’s YouTube Channel on Friday 28th May 2021.

In 2020, Rashford campaigned against child food poverty in the UK, which led to the implementation of a £520 million government programme to support vulnerable children.
