  • NOTTING HILL Carnival has been cancelled for a second time since the start of the pandemic last year.
  • Organisers of the highly-anticipated cultural event announced it will not take place on the streets due to threats posed by COVID-19.
  • The announcement comes as a huge knock for millions of people who attend the Caribbean street festival annually.
  • Organisers are also disappointed after making year long preparation to ensure the large scale event would go ahead.
  • In statement released today by the Notting Hill Carnival Ltd board – “This has been an incredibly difficult decision to make. Everyone involved in the event desperately wants a return to the road where Carnival belongs but safety has to come first and with the latest cautious announcement on the government’s ‘roadmap’, this is the only way to ensure that.”
