Police confirm body found in Epping Forest identified as Richard Okorogheye

  • The body of Richard Okorogheye has been found in a lake in Epping Forest. He was a first-year university student at Oxford Brookes University when he went missing from his home on 22nd March 2021. He had told his mother that he was going to meet a friend but did not return home. He was officially reported missing on 24th March 2021.
  • The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that there is no physical evidence of an assault or a third-party involvement in the incident. At this time, the cause of his death is unexplained. Investigators have stated that they are searching Richard Okorogheye’s computer for any information that would shed light on this case. Also, authorities have conducted a search party to locate Okorogheye’s phone, bag and shoes in Epping Forest, which were not found on his body. His mother, Evidence Joel, has stated that she has been to the site where her son’s body was found and laid flowers near the site.
